Košarka

Košarka is the Croatian term for basketball, a sport played between two teams of five players each. The objective of the game is to score points by shooting a ball through the opponent’s hoop, which is elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular court with a three-point line marking the area from which players can score three points per shot if they make it from beyond that line. Basketball emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skillful ball handling, and it is regulated internationally by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The sport is popular worldwide and includes various competitive leagues and tournaments, including the NBA, NCAA, and international competitions like the Olympics and World Cup. Košarka involves dribbling, passing, shooting, and defending, and players are categorized by positions, typically point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward, and center, each with distinct roles on the court. The sport promotes physical fitness, coordination, and social interaction among players and fans alike.
