Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field, with four bases arranged in a square layout. The objective is for one team, known as the batting team, to score runs by hitting a pitched ball with a bat and running around the bases to reach home plate. Meanwhile, the opposing team, known as the fielding team, attempts to prevent runs by getting batters or base runners out through various means, such as catching batted balls, throwing to bases ahead of runners, or striking out batters.

The sport is governed by specific rules, including how innings are structured, how pitching and batting are performed, and the ways outs are recorded. Each game consists of nine innings, and the team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball is often recognized as America’s pastime and has a rich history, with various professional leagues, including Major League Baseball (MLB), and a significant cultural impact worldwide. The sport emphasizes skills such as hand-eye coordination, strategy, teamwork, and endurance.
